Sweet Classes

Our sweet classes include a high tea lunch, to be enjoyed after class. The tea sandwiches, scones and shortbread, the delicate organic tea – let’s not forget the cheese selection – Yum!

Dinner Classes

All classes begin with an amuse bouche as it’s never good to learn on an empty stomach. The first course will be soup or a salad followed by the class dinner, finishing with dessert. Coffee and tea will also be offered.

Food Inspired has a limit on class size – in order to follow the health regulation protocols. 6 people may be booked at one time.

In the event that the class size does not reach a minimum booking of 3, the class will be rescheduled or refunded.

Sushi

So many ingredients that the mixing spoon stands up in the bowl!  This is a white Christmas cake that I age in sherry – but you can use port if you like! The mixing of the cake is done by hand – so make sure you get in shape! After class – and while your cake is baking, please join us for a delightful afternoon tea!

My Thai

Linda Stephen, retired owner of Linda’s Country Kitchen cooking school and former instructor at the Bonnie Stern School of Cooking, savours all things Thai. Thai food wakens all the senses with it’s zestful flavours.  It is colourful, fresh and generally light.  Whether mild or spicy, diners seemed to be energized when they eat Thai food.  This “My Thai” class includes a couple of quick appetizers, a soup or salad, a noodle dish, a curry dish and a dessert. Please be aware that nuts and seafood will be served in this class.

Beef Stroganoff

This is a Russian dish of sautéed pieces of beef served in a sauce with sour cream, butter, garlic, wine, onions and mushrooms.  It is a fabulous dish that is served over noodles (freshly made in class). Our starters for this class will include a crudité and a variety of cheeses and crackers. Desert will be light and flavorful!

There are so many great shortbread cookies recipes and I have made many of them – but I always return at Christmas time to this simple recipe.  Delicate, melt in your mouth deliciousness with that traditional bit of maraschino cherry in the middle. After class, enjoy an afternoon tea with us!

Seafood Risotto

Perfect for the weekend. Slow and steady – as the saying goes. Infused with a number of herbs to garner remarkable flavour! Parmigiana that holds all of the flavour’s hostage. This is a class not to be missed. Crisp salad as a starter with a fresh apple galette to finish.
